About three weeks ago, I started an excel spreadsheet that basically did one thing: kept track of how many glasses of water I drank per day. My goal, to drink the 8 glasses we're supposed to consume. At first, I found it a challenge. Running to the kitchen every hour or so to make sure I was on task. Then running to the bathroom every half hour. After a couple of days, I found a big jug that holds 52oz of liquid that I would fill up and set at my desk. One glass in the morning at home, the full jug by the end of the work day and a glass before bed makes... 9 glasses of water! In that short amount of time, I have seen my skin do some major improving and my breakouts less frequent. I also just feel better inside, knowing that I'm not consuming soda and high sugar juices all day. I was never much of a soda drinker in the first place, so it wasn't too tough to make the change, but I'll admit, I do love my juice concentrate.
So cheers to water! I ditched the spreadsheet now that I'm in a routine and I definitely see this one helping me out on my journey this year. Next stop, more sleep!
1) I said 'no' to driving into work and walked/took the bus.
2) I said 'no' to buying bread at the farmers market and took the bus down Nicollet mall so I wouldn't be tempted.
3) I said 'no' to pizza for lunch and went to grab sushi with a friend.
4) I said 'no' to grilling out and made eggs and toast for dinner.
5) I said 'no' to the main roads and ended up biking across the river to get home.
